PooPoo in the Potty

Only a mom would rejoice at such a thing, but Reese went poopoo in the potty the other day. It was not by her choice and was pretty funny. We had gone to Abilene to take Kaylee to gymnastics. I changed Reese's diaper once we got there and realized that was the last diaper. OOPS! Well, Kaylee went to the bathroom and as I was getting her ready I saw Reese give the face. I grabbed her up and sat her on the potty. She sat there a few seconds and wanted off. I was like oh, well. I hope I can scrape it out. I know...gross. Well, as I am lifting her off, Kaylee says, "Mom, something black is coming out". So I put her back on and a few minutes later there was a plop. YEAH! It of course has not happened again but it is a start.

Livin' On the Edge

I have always felt that God gives you the children you were supposed to have. Obviously so because I never wanted girls and now I have 2. They are precious and I love them to pieces. Kaylee has always been a little tomboy and is always on an adventure. We have started to let Reese go outside in the backyard with Kaylee some. We check on them frequently. We tell Kaylee to not put Reese on the trampoline or take her off. So, after reminding them of this today, we let them out on the trampoline and zipped them in. I peek out the window on my turn to check and almost had a heart attack. I yell and bolt to the backdoor and actually almost went through the glass. My baby was on the outside of the trampoline crawling along the edge carefully guided by her big sister. I told Kaylee this was not a good idea and would not happen again. She happily reassured me that she would have caught her if she fell. So good to hear. Later Kaylee picked Reese up and put her in her swing and latched it. Reese was in heaven.

Phillip's Amazing Palm Sunday message

As many of you know, I am very proud of my husband. He is an amazing pastor in every aspect that a pastor is required to be. To me, he is the definition of pastor. I wanted to put his Palm Sunday message on the blog because it was truely a blessing.

My Kaylee

There are numerous differences between my girls. One of which is that Kaylee has a dry sense of humor and doesn't realize she is funny. Reese on the other hand tries to make you laugh and knows she is.

This is about Kaylee though. The other day she was talking non-stop. Just wait parents of girls that don't talk yet. It is like that car commercial. We were in the car and she was talking, talking, talking and then all of a sudden she says that she is just out of ideas and that hopefully tomorrow she would have more but for now she was out. Phillip told her that it was sad that at 5 years old she was already out of ideas. She agreed that it was very sad. It took all we had to not die laughing.

After we got home I took the girls outside to ride bikes. Kaylee again began to talk and make up stories and live in her imaginary world. SO I asked her if she had gotten her ideas back yet. And she said, "Yes, the Lord has blessed me with more ideas. Thank you Jesus." The look on her face was priceless...almost angelic. But, we know better.

Random Pictures

This a picture of Daddy and his girls as soon as he got home from Sudan 13 lbs lighter and all scratchy (what Kaylee calls his beard).

Here is Kaylee at gymnastics. She loves it and asks every morning if it is gymnsatics day. She goes with her cousin Emily and she so looks forward to it.

Reese is hilarious. This is how we found her one morning. She alos likes to fall asleep stradling one of the arm rests of our recliners. It is so funny. I will try to get that picture.

Lastly we have Reese helping make banana pudding. She likes to lick the bowl, the cool whip, the spoon, the beaters...you name it. This girl loves to eat.

Snow Day

On Monday we got a dusting of snow that melted instantly. On Tuesday it was 70 degrees and on Wednesday it was 60 and then it was freezing again on Thursday. We had some thunderstorms first thing in the morning but not to worry. Cisco was not under any winter warnings. I continue to work and then it starts to snow and sleet just a bit. I went to a pt home and when I came out 25 minutes later to get something out of my car, I am shocked to see 3 inches of snow and the biggest flakes I have ever seen. So I go back into the house and tell my patient that I better go. I try to stop at the end of the road and slide 25 yards. I slowly turn towards I20 and get on the highway because I have to go to the lab. I run into the hospital and am in there 2 minutes and there is an inch of snow on my car. I then begin my trip home. A 12 mile drive from Eastland to Cisco. It takes 35 minutes and is the worst I have ever driven in. I am fish tailing going 30 mph. It then took 3 tries to back out of the babysitters driveway. Then safe at home, we have some fun. We built a snowman, have a snowball fight and make snow angels. Kaylee played outside for an hour at a time twice. Reese on the other hand was miserable. She cried the whole time we were building a snowman. I know she was thinking that we were crazy because she would not move on the snow. It was fun. We ended up getting 6-8inches of wonderful snow. It was the most in the big country and we weren't supposed to get any. HAHA! We also made snow ice cream which is Kaylee's favorite.

Snow Ice Cream Recipe

Mix some snow with whipped cream, sugar (I use Splenda) and vanilla. I just add a little of this and a little of that until it tastes yummy!

What did we ever do...

Well, here are a few of the pictures from Africa. One of our computers, the one that works really well and is newer is in the shop. So, we are onto computer 2. These are some pictures of the children. I don't know id any of you realized that Sunday is March 9th not the 12th but that is when Phillip is talking about his trip.
I took Kaylee and my cousin Emily to the Sleeping Beauty Ballet on Sunday. They loved it. The costumes were beautiful and it was very well done. I however, am not a really big fan of the ballet and it was 2 1/2 hrs long. I was dying. About halfway through, Kaylee asks," Why do you see the boys bottoms when they turn around." I wasn't sure if she meant the front or the back and I didn't ask. I jsut said it was how boy ballerina's dress. That seemed to satisfy.
Then, today we were trying to put together a new aquarium stand because our aquarium started leaking and ruined the base. So, Phillip asks me where his drill was. I looked where I had left it last and couldn't find it. Then Kaylee says that she knows where it is. It is outside. Which wouldn't be that big a deal if it hadn't rained 2 1/2 inches last night and it hadn't rained in months. So Kaylee and Phillip went outside (in the snow) and found the drill that is covered with water and dirt. Phillip had brought a lithium drill for his birthday. Phillip asked why she had the drill. She said, "I was drilling holes." Phillip looks concerned and says, "Where?" Which in and of itself says that we don't underestimate our daughter. She has hammered nails and built all sorts of things by herself. Kaylee sweetly answers, "In the dirt". We were actually relieved that she hadn't remodeled the house for us. Phillip handled it very well. He stayed very calm and told Kaylee to never, ever use any of Mommy's or Daddy's things without asking. Kaylee siad she would have asked but she was afraid he would say no.
What did we ever do, before we had kids.
